Danish-Russian Cultural Relations 1700-1900
International Symposium 27th - 29th of May 2010



Organised by the Museum of National History, Frederiksborg Castle.

The Museum of National History will be hosting an international symposium on ‘The Danish - Russian Cultural Relations 1700-1900’ on the 27th, 28th and 29th of May 2010.

The conference explores the often complex, but highly fascinating relations between Denmark and Russia in a 200 year period of cultural, economic, commercial, dynastic, and political connections.

Leading scholars from Denmark and Russia will present their research on diverse topics such as 
- Danish-Russian Commercial Relations
- Laurits Tuxen and his Works in the Hermitage Museum
- Danish-Russian Cultural relations 1700 and 1800
- Reports from Danish Emissaries during the Russian Revolution 1917
.
Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Georgy Vilinbakhov, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg.
